It's going to be a very hot day, with the feel of the heat reaching over 100 degrees. To help our unhoused neighbors, we'll be open for showers and laundry from 1 PM to 7 PM. Dinner will be served starting at 8 PM, with doors opening an hour before. The Clark County Health Department will also be present from 1 PM to 3 PM, offering harm reduction services. It's important to stay cool and hydrated during this extreme heat.

During these hot days, remember that the local libraries are open and can be a great place to escape the heat. Outside Exit 0, we'll have cold water available for anyone who needs to hydrate. Please also note that the cooling station at Culbertson Baptist Church on Grant Line Road in New Albany will be open. These resources are here to help everyone stay safe and comfortable in the heat.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to all the volunteers and donors who support our mission. Your generosity makes a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. Please keep our unhoused friends in your thoughts and prayers as we all navigate this challenging, hot weather together and work to provide essential services and support.

FYI ......

*UPDATED*
The cooling station will be OPEN Wednesday, June 10th - Saturday, June 13th.

As we continue to monitor the weather and upcoming forecast, we will continue to change the status of the cooling station as needed. As such, the cooling station will now be OPEN Wednesday, June 10 - Saturday, June 13. Remember we have only one location of the cooling station (Culbertson Baptist Church), and we have different volunteer teams for the different days of the week.

We are thankful for the New Albany City Council’s contribution to the cooling station this summer. While we wait for the logistics of receiving their allotted funds, we have not yet been able to buy TARC tickets. Once we receive the funds, we will purchase TARC tickets and make them available. Still, water and snacks will be available at this cooling station this coming week when it is open.

And if you know anyone who would like to come volunteer, we welcome them in service of our community.
