It was a very busy day at Exit 0 as we welcomed the arrival of fall and the colder temperatures. The change in weather meant that we needed to break out the cold-weather gear to help those in need. Our hard-working volunteers came together to gather and organize supplies that would be distributed that very night. Their dedication was inspiring, and it was heartwarming to see everyone pitch in to make sure our unhoused friends would have the warmth they deserve as the temperatures drop.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our volunteers, we were able to provide essential items for those who need them most. We distributed 23 sleeping bags and over 30 blankets and many other items, ensuring that many would have a cozy place to rest. Additionally, we handed out numerous hoodies, sweatshirts, and coats to help keep everyone warm. Along with clothing, we also offered several hygiene items, which are crucial for health and dignity. Knowing that many unhoused individuals would be warmer tonight brings a sense of relief and joy to our community.

In addition to clothing and supplies, we also made sure to offer care services. We provided 26 showers and handled 12 loads of laundry, allowing our friends to feel fresh and clean. The Path program was there to assist with case management, helping individuals connect with needed resources. A huge thank you goes out to Heaven's Eyes for serving a wonderful meal that everyone enjoyed until the last bite. As the cooler temps settle in, we ask everyone to keep the unhoused in their prayers and continue supporting the efforts to help them stay warm and cared for.

Huge thank you to our Friends at Steak 'n Shake for the meal today and thank you to Joy Scott and her team at New Chaple Church for the Awesome Desserts. We had many extra hands that also helped us serve without our Volunteers we could not do what we do and appriciate you all.
